We also do the pipework and installation of other domestic and commercial LP gas appliances such as gas stoves, ovens, hobs, fireplaces, etc. You can serve food, have access to hot water as well as snuggle beside the fireplace even during electricity outages. A perfect alternative energy solution for restaurants, guesthouses as well as residences.
Gas leak detection
Golden rule 1: If you smell it, switch it off!
LP gas on its own does not have any smell. For safety purposes an added substance called ethanethiol (commonly known as ethyl mercaptan) provides a distinct smell/odour. This is of course to make you aware of a possible gas leak before an accident happens.
Gas leaks have the potential to cause major accidents resulting in injuries, fires, extensive damage to property an even incidences of death.
PSGC Piping Co. has the necessary gas leak detection equipment to find gas leaks fast without damage to walls and infrastructure.
Should you become aware of a possible gas leak, call us immediately, no matter the time of day or night. We do leak testing, pressure testing as well as fault finding to detect any gas leak hiding somewhere in the piping system. Then, upon finding the leak, we repair or replace the pipe pronto to restore the safety of your home.
Certification & Insurance
LP Gas installations has to be installed and also certified by a SAQCC registered person. If you have LP gas appliances in your home or business, make sure they meet the safety requirements prescribed by the SABS as well as the LP Gas Safety Association of Southern Africa. (LPGSASA)
Without a valid CoC, insurance companies may refuse to pay out a claim. A CoC ensures that gas components are working safely and have no leaks. Such a certificate is valid for five years, but, should you sell the house, you have to obtain a new certificate.
PSGC Piping is registered and certified to install and test LP gas systems, as well as issue the relevant Certificate of Compliance. Our piping installations are done by licensed, qualified and experienced professionals and we are insured for your peace of mind.
